Desired Outcomes:
The desired outcome is to teach new members to the uGroup about baptism and why it is important to be baptized.

Welcome:

Any fun and welcoming Icebreaker that gets the members moving, on their feet, where all the members can participate in. If there are new members be careful not to create a space where they feel exposed or uncomfortable.

Word:

Introduce the message by asking the following question:

• What do you think does it mean to be baptised with water?
  • The Greek word “Baptismo” which means:
    -To dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge
    -To cleanse by dipping or submerging, to wash, to make clean with water.
  • Public display of a decision you have already made in your heart.

The following could be relevant questions to ask:

• What happens during the step of baptism?
  • Romans 6:4
    This is a step whereby a believer wilfully lay down his/her own life. Believing the old life is buried together with Christ and the newness of life has come.
    
    
• Why is it important to be baptized with water?
  • Acts 2:38
    
    
• When do you need to be baptized?
  • After confessing Christ as your Lord and Saviour the first step is to be baptized in water.
    
    
• What are the pre-requisites before being baptised?
  • Acts 8:36-37
    
    
• Why don’t some people want to be baptized?
  • I was baptised as a baby (It does not count you need to make the decision yourself)
  • Before I get baptised I want to know the bible better. (Refer to Acts 8:36-37)

The empowerment of service comes through the baptism with the Holy Spirit promised by Jesus (Acts 1:8)
