Word:
You can ask the following questions:
- Who of you were once on fire for God?
Facilitate the group discussion, most of the answers will be yes.
The following could be relevant questions to ask:
- What is the Fire of God?
The fire of God is the zeal that burns in us to tell the world about Jesus, to make His name known.
The feeling you had when you just got saved.
- Why do we need the Fire of God?
That is what makes us effective Christians, it gives us boldness.
Peter denied Jesus 3 times without the fire/Holy Ghost. After he received the baptism of fire he went out and preached the gospel and 3000 people got saved.
Facilitate the discussion around this point and maybe give examples out of your own life or let the members share testimonies when they were bold.
- How do get the Fire?
God is fire – Hebrews 12:29
So if we get closer to God, we get closer to the Fire. The closer to God we get the warmer it becomes. That fire starts spilling over into your life, it is birthed out of a place of being intimate with God.
- This is the main question: How do we keep the Fire?
Matthew 7:7 – Ask and it shall be given, seek and you will find.
1.If we go into our inner room and seek God we will find Him. That’s the promise He gives us in Matthew 7.
But we as his children must make it a habit to go and seek Him. Because what do we find if we say we find Him? We find His fire being poured out into our hearts and we go back to seek it again and again and again, till the day we die.
2. Surround yourself with people that is seeking the same goal. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says that bad company corrupts good habits. We must surround ourselves with people that is going after God with everything they have because it will ignite our flames.
